Took the time to murder some more jugs today.
The 180 grain CP cast from the 586 this time still went through 11 jugs and left a dent in the log (same as from the Marlin) I wonder how many damned jugs it would take to actually stop it.
Also shot the 375 win with the 200 grain Sierra. Blew up first 2 jugs, stopped in the 4th. Had a couple jugs left so I set them in front of the log, and kablewy. 2 jugs into pieces and the bullet went an inch or so into the wood. Both ended up as picture perfecto mushrooms, at 162.5 and 167.5 grains respectively.

No need to screw around with that stuff when you have a 7x57... Yeah,that .280 AI was 20 years ago when I shot Silhouette Competition. Now it's a 7mm Dakota and the 7mm Mauser's .
