Happy Friday, to FatJack and the world. Pic in the paper today. I removed the names.... Kid, 7, of Troy, shows off the 17.75-inch cutthroat trout he caught out of a deep pool the Clearwater River near Smith Ridge. Kid used a brightly colored Rooster Tail and hooked the fish on its second strike. I got my first BS from the U of I, and fished a lot of those tiny streams on the Palouse and further East to Orofino and the Clearwater. One creek in particular, near Southwick (off 3 bears road) was maybe a foot wide but I consistently pulled 15" cuts out of some of the holes. Hard to believe such fish would come from those tiny creeks but I did it fairly consistently.
I miss that part of Idaho.

A lot of these fuggin people think its a crime to kill and eat a curt....its art of our heritage...we just did too much of it too early and now cutts are on the comeback trail, and apparently sacred little beings to some. Too bad...they ARE good to eat!
