I will be testing a couple of Mike's fillet knives on flesh this fall and fish next spring. I've sharpened each of them to a different coarseness so that I can get a feel for edge retention between the two that were from the same heat treat. If sharpening them are any indication of edge retention both of these will perform at a very high level. Also worth mentioning is the blade geometry that comes from grinding on a big wheel. Both knives have a distal taper and are very uniform for such a thin grind. Both of these knives took a wicked sharp edge and I am anxious to try them out where the rubber meets the road. Vince, thank you for arranging this transaction. Mike, keep doing what you're doing because you're on the right track buddy.

Chootem thank you and Dale you can always work on ole Rick for another one of those wheels. One thing I think that got Rick and I to agree on things so well is that we both like sharp knives. I don't see why people carry dull blades. It is so nice to touch a something with a blade and see it pop apart. Dad always had that two sided axe stone on the back porch and there was not any excuses for a dull blade. One thing I can also thank Rick for was to see how thin he got his blades and made me strive to get them down to that point where they don't cut but man can they slice.

I'll be using it this fall but until then I just take it out of the sheath now and then and just stare at it. It's that beautiful.

Mike, you a butt head. A man had to pass on a knife, said he had already spent his budget. And pulled out. NOT 1 BUT 2 Mike Miller knives. You greedy hog. Lol. Congtas on the sale.

A BIG Thank You to Mike for the below. I missed this knife about a month ago when Vince sold one just like it. Mike reached out and offered to make one for me, which was awesome as it was a Christmas present for my dad. The knife turned out amazing, dad loved it - couldn't believe how sharp it was and really dug the handle. Mike, you do great work and expressed it in time for Christmas...thanks again!

Here are the only two Millers I have in my stash. The one on the right is an absolute Cherry! I bought them through Vince and these babies see daily use. The damascus on the left my wife uses regularly in the kitchen and it has been run through the dishwasher quite a few times; not by my choice! In fact, I keep a real close eye on the "Gents knife" on the right ... I told her if I ever catch it going through the dishwasher that her world will get turned upside down. Women just don't understand sometimes. The "Gents knife" on the right I think I would literally sell a kidney in order to get my hands on more just like it. It fits my hand so well and just balances great resting on my forefinger in that little slot towards the front bottomside of the handle. What amazes me is how sharp it continues to stay ... its a slicer! Love the shape of the blade too! Just an awesome knife.

I'll say it again, I took VInce's advice about letting the Miller fillet/boning knife stay in the kitchen during the off season. My wife uses it so much and it is her favourite kitchen knife. I can forget about ever taking it into the field!

The westinghouse one is mine and the stag one is my buddy Steve's. I'm a member of a large hunting club in WV that my step father was lucky enough to join in the 80's. It's pretty political and my step father is willing to sponsor him this year. When I placed my order with Mike I had just ordered mine but later asked Mike to make a stag one for Steve using the same specs as for myself. He is a gun guy but wouldn't qualify him as a hunter yet. I'm sure he will spontaneously schit himself when he sees what Mike made him.
Anyone looking for a patient guy making a lot of knife for a modest price with premium components you would be a damn fool not to put Mike on your short list. I will order more. In fact I have twin little sisters that hunt with us as a club. They are juniors in high school and I told them that when they graduate I will get them custom knives as gifts. Convinced Mike will make them for me/them.

I couldn't be happier with this knife that Mike built for me. It's my first custom knife and communicating with Mr. Miller made it a smooth process. Razor sharp edge and an outstanding sheath for it. Now I can't wait to get it bloody. Sorry for the pics as they don't do this knife justice. [img:left] [/img] [img:left] [/img]

Just ran across Mike's table at the Wanenmacher . Lots of nice knives laid out. He might have a chance to sell a few if he keeps his head out of the 223 AI thread.

I liked my b&t so much, that I wanted another Mike made knife. He and I came up with a design that I think is going to be the perfect knife for me. I can't wait til its complete. It'll have some sentimental value as well.
Hey Mike, can I post a pic of what we came up with, or should we wait til it's finished?

You probably saw his post on PM, but Rich44 just bought the same knife. Those Stag handled Miller B&T's are getting quite a following.

Yes Charlie, I did in fact see Rich's post Since the time I seen yours first I fell in love with that pattern I'm a sucker for a B&T knife anyway and this one seems perfect He had this one on hand but I have actually placed an order for another one. One to keep and one as a gift Can't wait to get this one in hand

Same here cept I was originally smitten by Splattermatic's post's. Most B&T pattern's are so handy and versatile it's easy to see why they're popular. I have several B&T's and while a couple have more sentimental value my Miller pretty much has em beat in form/function. GEC's another goodun if the sheath wasn't such an overdone monstrosity. Enjoy the new knife.

I just received this one a couple of days ago from Vince. Man, What a awesome little knife! And it came in handy tonight. By the time I got this doe out of the hollow she death sprinted down into it was full dark. A couple of Coleman lanterns provided light and Mike's knife zipped through the field dressing in no time flat. Buying this knife was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Thank you Mike and Thank you Vince for getting it here so fast.

These were in my mailbox Friday evening. The black one was for a fishing buddy and I only had time for one picture of the pair before he was over to pick it up. But took a couple better pictures of mine. Nice job as always by Mike.

Thank you Antlers! It would appear that I am not making very many but the opposite is true at least to me. I had told Vince I would send him some filets again but sold eight before I could get them sent to him. Local people have found me.
My biggest news is that at the end of October I am taking my retirement and then will be working on knives and chasing grand kids. Maybe I can get a few out and start on some folders for a change.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

Meant to put this up a while ago and never got around to it. Got this new fillet in from Mike. Really nice piece. Just in time for Rockfishing season. 6" blade with white G10 and red liners. For $135 shipped with a nice sheath? You guys would be crazy not to own one of these. Quick turn around and Mike's a good dude.

Very nice, what steel did you go with?

Large Badley's- 8-3/4" OAL: 4-1/2" Handle, 4-1/4" Blade 5/32" CPM 154 SS Deep Hollow Grind: Satin Finish Tapered Tangs Cut in Swedge (1) Jimped Spine & (1) Smooth Spine SS Corby Bolts & Lanyard Tube English Walnut w/ liners(1) red &(1) black I have rather large hands,(2XL), and requested that Mike add an extra inch to overall dimension of knives so that they lay well in my hand. We used slightly thicker stock material (5/32 vs 1/8) and Mike suggested a tapered tang to reduce felt weight and to improve the balance/overall appearance of the knives. They balance quite well at the finger groove and feel great in hand. Each knife also included a very nice handcrafted thick leather belt sheath tooled and sewn by Mike himself. Mike is a pleasure to deal with paying close attention to detail, listens well to the customer's request and then makes suggestions to give the customer a better overall product that they will be happy with. He offers an excellent value in a knife, is easy to get a hold of and his turn around times are not that bad at all. Those considering a custom knife should give Mike a holler! I know these two blades won't be my last from him and look forward to putting them to good use this coming fall during hunting season. Thank you for the fine blades Mike! Bill

Mike put the filet knife to use today.Usually don't clean largemouth but I ran out of last years crappie the other day and our lake has been twenty feet above normal since February . This has the crappie so far up in the trees you can't get to them and I kept a few bass from this morning fishing trip.

Thought I would join the Mike Miller appreciation party. First is a CPM 154 blade with Snakeskin Sycamore . Next is a CPM 154 blade with Forest Green G10 and yellow liners. They have both been used a bunch the last few years and still look good and take a great edge.

I've got one just like it. And if I'm packing the shotgun and my Drathaar is running ahead of me, you can be certain that it is on my belt.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

Who has made use of one of Mike's knives this year. Here is a bloody lite hunter used on one of this year's antelope. Lets see some pictures.
