IIRC both the Meostar 6x42 and the FX3 6x42 tested the same on his night chart test....7.5.

To heck with the scope - the recipe about the cherries was the bomb! Thanks John and Eileen!!

Aren't those cherries incredible?

As a matter of fact, Eileen said exactly the same thing all of us did when we tasted them in Africa: "Oh my God!"

They really are fantastic. I grilled those and some tender backstraps from an antelope doe for some folks who'd never had either and were dubious. Now they consider me a culinary god. whistle

Good work as per usual on the RLN!

Hello M D,

A friend of mine was offered a Leupold FXIII 6x42 with a Heavy Duplex Reticle. Another friend of mine has one like this. For a night scope, it is VERY GOOD. The optics and mainly the H.Duplex reticle. My question is: Are the optics of the newer FX3 notably better in light transmition to the FXIII?

Thank you and Best Regards

Glass is just superb. I tried several other power ranges trying to keep the exit pupil the same in all the scopes to keep it somewhat even. Again no differences. Great glass. Much trimmer lighter scope than the Duralyt and the choice there is clear when it comes to weight, appearance and price for the illuminated option: Meopta

Things I would have preferred differently:
1. I don't care where the light rheostat is, I much prefer the Zeiss or Swaro placement on the ocular lens.

2. Adjustment knobs have a weird, triangle shaped gizmo that makes it a bit awkward to adjust, but once it's done not a problem. Also the knob covers up the click lines. It's just a bit cumbersome.

3. Cross hairs in the center are very thin, too thin for me (like the Z6s), but the lighted reticle mitigates that problem.

4. Instruction manual SUCKS as do the cheap, lens covers. The scope needed some serious focus adjustments, but let me tell you guys once it's focused, it is CRYSTAL CLEAR.

Bottom line: For the MONEY and VALUE, it's the best of the lot.

Thanks for that report.

BTW, did you clear that leopard business with Ingwe...?? shocked
