It stickers around $65o with the cds at Cabela's, cashing in my points really helped soften the blow. The AO is a personal preference for me, some folks don't need it. I had a fixed objective 4.5-14 that I got in a package deal last year. I put it on the hood of my truck and watched my neighbors horses some 600yds away, the parallax was an issue for me. I set the AO for 200yd or so. If I have time to adjust it fine, if not I am in the same boat as the fixed objective folks are. I paid for that option

I have a custom rifle in a 257 weatherby what scope should I scope it with {MAKE AND POWER} and Why? Custom rifles are a waste of money.

The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

I have a custom rifle in a 257 weatherby what scope should I scope it with {MAKE AND POWER} and Why? I am finally getting around to giving you an opinion on your questions. Mine had a Swarovski z5 5-25X52. I like to have a decent field of view when on its lowest magnification setting and lots of magnification on the top end. Since it wouldn't track correctly I sent it in for repair and installed a Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50. The advantage of the z5 is it is 4 1/2 ounces lighter and has a slightly larger field of view when both are set on their lowest settings. Also it is better in low light. Why? So often we see recommendations of 4 1/2-14X or there abouts. Both of the above have about the same field of view in the low end, but once you see game with your eyes or binos, you can get an up close look before you shoot if you want when you have lots of time.
