Dan this is going to be a coyote rifle built on a Interarms action. The .22-6mm I have is 10+ lbs and am wanting another .22-6mm but lighter.Want it to be around 8 lbs ready to go.

Any suggestions?

Going to have Douglas barrel the action in a #2 contour, which will be 5-1/4 lbs without stock.

Different trick that. I like McMillan sticks mostly and for yotes I'd lean to 6X. Guess on my part but you might make 8# that way w/o metal work.
I like a 6x as well,9x or more is too much scope.

The Interarms action is 3 lbs itself,so just trying to keep all the un-needed metal (heavier barrel) off.

Thanks Dan for your input. smile

Mojo,

I'm prolly gonna get a Smith & Wesson Shield around the first of the year, not sure if in 9mm or 40 S&W. Let us know how the Ruger shoots.

Del,

Nice to see you around again.

So far so good on the Rugerr. As ammo availability improves I'll be able to shoot it more. It definitely carries batter than my SIG 220. Much more comfortable while seated, as well.

I got two buddies on the PD and they just bought Shields-- 2 in 9mm and 1 in .40. I've handled them but haven't shot either. Hopefully, I can soon and will give my thoughts. I do like the feel of the Ruger better but my hands are quite a bit bigger than both my buddies.

FWIW, I asked the one who got the .40 and the 9mm if he would buy the .40 again and he said he would just stick with the nine...
