140NAB and VV N165 = awesomer results. If I didnt have 165, 4831 would be my next choice. The 140 and N-165 is the cats meow in the 280AI. 9+ loadings, no sloppy primer pockets, no brass issues what so ever. And all I have done is neck size, reload, go kill stuff

Having nothing to do with the aforementioned 120s and 140s, my brother's .280AI load development began and ended with 160gr Sierra BTs and 58gr of RL22. Ridiculously small groups, and hammers the snot out of deer.

Mine likes the 140 TTSX and 162 Amax over R22. I would have zero reservations using the 140 Accubond for elk of that was what my rifle liked.
Last years deer was the TTSX at 385yds and dropped at the shot. Last years elk was the Amax at 427yds IIRC and he jumped at the shot took about 10 wobbly steps and fell over dead.
Neither had any difficulty or concern for me.

Got one with a Shilen 26" use nosler brass H4831 with 140 Nosler BT, AB or PT I think I'm running about 59-60 grains . My chono tells me just a bit over 3000fps, not super fast, but it is my most accurate rifle to date......... Especially when running the NBT. Great round. I have 1/2 dozen AI rounds ....if I did it again the only two I would keep are the .280 and I do dearly love my .250-3000AI. Be safe and shoot straight. Goodshot
