Since "World War Z" came out on DVD, Netflix, etc, I've been bombarded by a bunch of people (mostly younger ones, like my nieces, nephews, and their friends) to rent this movie. Dunno if I want to. Anyone seen it? Anyways, I just wanted to share this poignant representation I found the other day that perfectly captures my views on Zombie Nuts...

Watched it last night....was somewhat disappointed. Was going to buy it....glad I just rented it. Good story line, but dragged out and kind of boring at times.

I actually liked it. It's just a fast paced action flick. With all the same silly stuff most action flicks have.
The thing that makes this one stand out (besides buying the name of a well known book) is that it's the first zombie movie that shows an international perspective.
Most zombie movies focus on a small group that includes a cop, a bad guy with a golden heart, hot chick that can fight better than most men, and a rich azzhole who questions every move. And the whole movie takes place in half a city. Or a mall.
So this one was nice to see how the director envisioned different countries dealing with it and an international effort on a cure.

Fast zombies are badass. I prefer the old school slow, dim witted ones. Much easier to make a brain shot on those boys.
I'm better when I move.

It's not even remotely close to the book. They just took the book name and made a completely different movie so if they're expecting the book, forget it. That said, the movie was okay by itself. Fast paced, great CGI and an interesting story. Some here didn't like it for the supposed "one world" subliminal message but one can read into something whatever one wants. I enjoyed it. And hey, if it makes folks rush out to buy AR-15 zombie guns, what's the downside?
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

We're likely gonna watch it this weekend. I think it's going to be available in 3D. Will have to charge the glasses.

Very good action movie, that keeps you excited throughout its entirety.
8/10
Not a thinking mans movie, but certainly very good.

I hate Brad Pitt. I'd rather watch Zombieland again, and see Woody Harrelson make good use of crazy.

Not bloody, gory or any foul language either. Good zombie flick for the kids.

The book was a great read. I'm probably gonna put this movie on my Netflix queue just because.

The book was a great read. I'm probably gonna put this movie on my Netflix queue just because. Did you think so? I didn't like what I perceived to be a very pro-UN stance. I realize it's just fiction, but it turned me off more and more the farther I got along in it. I also didn't like the references to wiping out enclaves of southern-fried survivalist types who had been making it on their own in their own territories while the [bleep] government regrouped. They didn't take kindly to getting back together with the ones who got overrun in the first place so the new government just wiped them out. Anyway, that's how I took it. The movie looks significantly different than the book, as has been related. I was looking forward to its release but then it was kinda anticlimatic and I've been busy so...I dunno. Maybe I'll rent it.

The book was a great read. I'm probably gonna put this movie on my Netflix queue just because. The Zombies in the movie look to move pretty fast and be pretty badassed. In the book it seemed a stretch that zombies, as described, could overrun the whole world to the extent they did.

I came close to going to the theater to see this. I guess I might as well catch it on Pay Per View.
