This thread surprises me. I'm getting 2795fps with 42 gr of Varget, 140gr Accubonds and Rem 9 1/2 primers in my T3. Guess I should be happy about it! Is there a reason Partitions would be that much slower?

Those reloading manuals always do weird crap like use a 26" barrel for testing. How many 7-08's are actually using 26" barrels? Maybe some customs, but if you are going to throw a 26" barrel on there, might as well be shooting a magnum of some sort. I think 2700-2800 is more realistic for that round with 140's.

I ran 45 Varget. 2900-2960 in two 21" bbls. Safe in MY rifles. Partial sized RP brass. I'd work up to 44 if safe.

My brother killed a nice 3 point mulie on opening day using the 47 grain load and 140 NP. One shot, pass through. He told me the buck went about 5 feet and fell over.

Big Game, WLR primers, 2.805"

Big Game easily got me to 2,900 with 140's without even using max load data in my Tikka T3 FWIW...

A 140 Accubond driven by 48 grains of Big Game and sparked by a Federal 210M clocks right at 2900 in my 22" Montana.

If she's accurate, that's a darn deadly combo right there.

I used 43grs of Varget and got 2765FPS from my H&R. I got better velocity and accuracy from H4895. 42grs of H4895 produced 2823FPS.

Range day today. The Big Game load of 47 grains, 140 NP, WLR primer, OAL 2.838" printed 0.722", 5 shots at 100 yards. Interestingly, the deeper I seated the bullet the bigger the groups became. I'm constrained by mag length or I'd play with a longer OAL. Still, at 2870 or so I can't complain.

Can't get much better than that Pharm.....confidently putting partitions into sub MOA groups is a kickazzz combo. Nice!

Just for fun I did some math comparing a 180 grain bullet out of a .30-06, MV 2700 ft/sec, with a 140 grain bullet out of a 7mm-08, MV 2870.

The 7mm-08 delivers slightly over 88% of the foot/pounds of energy as the .30-06.

Pretty good.

I loaded some Big Game with WLRM primers. Let's see if I can do better.
