Any of ya's got a Berger manual with 243 and 87 gr Vlds in with Varget?

And have any of ya's used them on deer? I got these and 95 gr BT's to try out. Thanks.

I have only shot coyotes and targets with the 88s. that should change the end of oct. i believe quite a few folks on longrangehunting have used the 87 with good results.

I would stick to the 95 grain hunting VLD rather than the 87 grain target/varmint VLD.

My 243 is a browning abolt which has a 1/10 twist and Berger says for the 95 gr to use 1/9 or faster. So I picked the 87, which Berger lists as a hunting VLD, not varmint. Even so, I do have concerns how they will hold up. I typically shoot shoulders and worry about bone. If I can get them to shoot, and a shot presents itself this year, im gonna try it.

Thanks!

i think you made a good choice . i tried loading the 95 bergers for a buddy with a rem VLS, 9.25 twist. he never got any good groups . not sure how big the deer are by your oak but i am using the 88 grain berger this year for deer here. they are small.

I'm a Berger fan and been very successful hunting w/VLD's in Canada, Africa & Georgia, though I like running BT's out of my .243win because the amount of deer I've killed w/ 95 grainers.

The Noslers should fly beautiful out of your A-bolt.

I've only killed one deer with the 87 grain vld, it was a doe at about 100 yards and through the lungs. Bullet passed completely through and she ran about 50 yards and died. Was very pleased with bullet performance. Can't remember load data off the top of my head though sorry.
