So I am ramping up training, right now. Evidently ours started sometime in the last week. Hauling hay yesterday and found a headless deer out in the field. Dirty [bleep] anyway. Really pkuckin' pisses me off.

Sometimes I wonder if all these magazines and shows have pushed us into a culture of shooting only big rack deer to brag to your buddies about. How does a person even mount that and show it off without feeling like a POS. I worked at a manufacturing plant where there was the fabled family of deer slayers and there was a picture of all the guys with there mounted heads being shown around. It was out in western MN shotgun zone and most people wondered how many were taken with rifles and/or spotlights... Sorry if I got philisophcal but it irritates me when people don't embrace the whole hunting experience and put their machismo all onto a rack... Need to get back to the GTE's focus - bring on the flussies please.
