No real story. My cousin has a full body bear mount in his living room. I grabbed the arrowhead and rattle from his skull case to spruce up the pic.

I may have to make one up for my kids when I get home though...

The knife is Case Drop Point. The item number is 05560 and the pattern is 267-4.

Thanks! I might have to pick one up

Undergunned, classic bullet failure and no horns, looks like a disappointment to me. Heck, I have been doing that most of my life and the tenderloins out of that cow are as good as red meat can get.

Good luck with the rest of your hunt...

Congrats on your first elk! Deer hunting will never be the same now, especially after eating elk meat over the winter.

Darrik, you kill more animals with that lowly 308 and shrapnel might have to bestow the "Ole meat in the pot" nickname on it!

Darrik, sweet, really like the bullet, rattler, arrow head pic.

You still have a buck tag correct?

Hope you find a nice one!

Thanks guys!

I'll work on filling the buck tag tomorrow. Been tending to the meat most of the day today. Took a little walk about behind his house to prepare for tomorrow's hunt. Looks like I'll be hunting in some snow....something else we don't get a chance to do in Kentucky.

Congratulations! You certainly have the envy of the Eastern Kentucky contingent.

Already got 'em! Gonna make the wife and oldest daughter a pendant. The youngest daughter will have to wait until the next elk. She's only two and not into jewelry yet.

I remember....after the first fog.

I told dad about it and we both hoped you were wrong. Glad you missed it by a couple of days!

Looks like it's gonna warm back up a little in a couple days. But I'm gonna hunt in the snow first.
