Got to take the first game animal with the new 260 AI. Took him at just a shade over 300 with 123 SST's at 3090. The bullet entered the center of his ribs and exited low behind the off shoulder. Scrambled the lungs and cut the heart part way loose.The exit hole was 3/4" to 1" and did not even hit a rib. He made it 7 of my steps after I hit him. Well done, congrats!! I used a 260 for the first time this year. It's amazing what little recoil they have and how well they kill.

I bought a few boxes for my 260, but hadn't even started load development yet.
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

Nice work! I like those SSTs, even though they're lamented as fragile... I have a box of the 123 AMax for my Swede as soon as it's done. Thinkin they'll slay some deer's pretty nicely and your post proves it!

scenarshooter, wish you would have stopped. Had fresh chops, fried Colorado belletis mushrooms(sp), onion. Washed down with Coors Original.
Followed by 2 fingers of Bullet

Any details of the load you used (powder etc.)? Also, what is your barrel length?
I also have a 260 Rem AI; however, I more likely to have a shot inside 25 yds than a shot outside 100 yds on most of my woods stands. We do have clear cuts on the lease that allow long shots but I tend to carry what I know won't have problems close up. With that said, the thought of shooting the 123g SST and the 123g AMax appeals to me.
