Hi All,

Forgive my ignorance--for .45 Colt, what are the differences between a reamer meant to cut a Barrel Chamber vs. a different reamer meant to cut the Cylinder's Chambers?

I have a Cylinder Chamber Reamer and am wanting to use it to cut a chamber in a single-shot rifle barrel, but am assuming the reamers are significantly different.

Thanks for you help,

Not savvy enough on cylinder issues to spec the differences, but PM dsink. He has a barrel reamer he used on my Colt SxS that he had posted for sale at one time.

The difference is on the front end of the reamer. The cylinder reamer has a pilot sized for a revolver cylinder throat of about .455". The barrel reamer has a pilot sized for the bore dia. of a rifled barrel or about .445". It also cuts a conical bullet seat just behind the pilot.
