kaboku68,
I don't know where you're getting your price information, but the Nosler website lists the Legacy (high-grade walnut) rifle at $2695. A Cooper with good wood will run at least that.
Yeah. What I've seen is around $2000-$2500 for the three rifles I'm interested in, more or less. I'm finding the problem is locating them so I can see the wood before buying. What I'm really planning on doing is getting the .250-3000 in the cooper and undecided on the other. It will be a 7mm-08. It may be the nosler by default as I'm not having any luck locating a super America.
Don't just be a survivor, be a competitor.

There is a fair amount of price variation unless $400 or $500 (20%?) matters not. My pick would be the Kimber as it is lighter, which is a mandate of mine, and does not have a magazine, another mandate of mine. Also, I cannot see, given the simple action, why the Nosler is priced where it is. My two bits.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

kaboku68,
The big reason for the price on that Nosler rifle is it comes with a brand-new Leupold VX-3 scope and mounts. Oh, and some Nosler Custom ammo as well.

EdM,
It's because the "simple" action is machined right from the get-go to the "blueprinted" standards done to most factory actions when they're made into custom rifles, tuned to feed whatever cartridge it's chambered for perfectly. It's fitted with a Pac-Nor barrel, guaranteed to shoot 3/4" or less with Nosler FACTORY ammo. The metal is all coated either in Cerakote (external) or Micro Shield (moving parts) to be not just rustproof but to function consistently.
If you can find a gunsmith who can do all that, plus provide a fancy-grade, nicely checkered walnut stock for $2695 (the price of a Nosler Legacy) then by all means hire him.
The same thing can be said about the $4195 Nosler Custom walnut-stocked rifle, which includes the new Leupold VX-3 mentioned above, detachable mounts that fit onto the integral bases of the simple action, and ammunition that will shoot into well under an inch. Oh, and a hard synthetic case that retails for around $200.
My experience with custom stockmakers is that very few are willing to go to work for less than $2000 these days, and that doesn't include the price of a fancy walnut blank.
The same things can be said about Cooper rifles, which also have "simple" actions. Either brand is a bargain compared to a walnut-stocked custom rifle built by individual gunsmiths.

Statistical anomaly? Sounds like a fancy term for envious, both of the requisite skill and equipment. Formidilosus is probably right LOL, but that post is down right funny. From a factory 700 BDL 25.06 Same BDL 110 Accubombs 5 shots Coopers 220 swift on the left, 223 on the right 5 shots all Another 5 shots from the swift Measured outside to outside 10 shots at 200 Cooper 223 So I guess I should be envious of your Montana, but especially your skill right.
