Looks like it is a BL22 Classic/Field w/silver nitrate receiver and 24" octagon barrel. I bought it from an individual a few years ago. Not a scratch on it but I think the front sight is too low probably came from Browning with a regular short bbl. BL22. Looking for an educated guess on the value. Has been fired less than fifty rnds.

Blue Book says a little less, but I've seen them sell around here for $500-600. All 22 lever actions are hot right now.

Now I like that but how did you arrive at that number?

I've got bigger numbers than that if you want some! Even if you can't find a comparable for sale or sold, start at the bottom with the base models and work up. You know it brings a premium, it's just a question of how close you can get with a lesser models price to help you determine the value of this one. Add to that the exposure you get with a penny start, no reserve auction and the general scarcity of the model, coupled with the condition, heck, I might even be low. Please PM for bigger numbers and I'll start typing now...

I just ran 5 auctions for various Savage 99 and Model 1920 rifles with a zero start, no reserve. All went higher than I figured. Significantly higher. Don't underestimate desire. Chances are you start that at 900, no one gives it a look. GB is loaded with those auctions.

I'm pretty sure I have that same gun unfired in the box. I must be getting old.

That is a dandy rifle. One you could own and enjoy the remainder of your life. Even pass it on to a loved one or friend. Or you could sell it and enjoy the money for a couple of minutes. I wish all my decisions would be this easy.

I wouldn't sell that one, I'd enjoy it. If you'd sell it to me for $250 that is.

The key is you make it on a bunch of peoples "watch list" that you wouldn't if you start at $900, and when they see it going for even $100 less than they think it's worth they'll bid on it rather than let someone else have a good deal. Ah, the human condition...

NICE RIFLE! I like it ... a lot.
Just curious ...
Where was it made and do you know when it was made?
The finish on the stock looks the same as my Belgian .308 BLR.

The finish on the stock looks the same as my Belgian .308 BLR. Seems like I read somewhere that it was made by Mirouki (SP)in Jopan for Browning in 2007 so it ain't all that old. I was diggin thru my odds and ends when I came across it so just thought I'd put it's picture here and see what the experts think of it. Not planning on selling it anytime soon.

RTE, thanks for that info. Pretty spendy piece of equipment, huh.
