There is that. I gots an 1890 in .22 WRF, would that be classy? Uber cool. And 4 bricks of ammo. Was my grandfathers first gun, circa 1910. BD, this'un is kinda cool, too. My pap served aboard the battleship Iowa during Korean war, and picked the 62-A up at the PX in Guantanamo. Shipped it home to his folks and didn't see it again till he was discharged. That was afore I was borned. Gave it to me on my 12th boythday. It's killed a [bleep] full of beeves, bacons and lambchops. And the legacy continues....

Sure don't sell guns at the NEX at GTMO anymore, definitely a different time. Great gun, even cooler story. Thank to your pap for his service.

Me and my Boner had to take an unexpected trip. Hunting got left behind and drinking was involved. I'm tripping this weekend again. I hope to get back to hunting 'fore it closes.............or not. Boner understands.

DH: I thought Id look up that 45 gr Horncompany says its been 'suspended'..WTF? That's bullshit...they better not be having second thoughts about the 45 grainer. Truth be told, until a TSX or other "premium" bullet is available in .204, I will probably refrain from killing more big critters with it in timber. I wouldn't hesitate to kill deer or lopes in the open with the 45 Hornie, but the lack of a blood trail didn't give me much confidence in the timber. It did break a rib going in and out though. It looks like I ain't the only one killing stuff. I love the BTE...

I'm trying to figure out when the Rez shuts down pheasant season.
Gotta remember to buy a coyote license.
Saw a really nice big fluffy one mousing in a stubble field right off the highway this morning. Outside of Park Grove.

Damn.....this has got to be the roughest 12 months I've had in quite awhile..... Daughter was using my truck.....had an accident with it, looks like it's totaled. Thankfully she is fine other than bumps. bruise, and a few small cuts. Hell, even the gear shift lever is bent like a pretzel! She said that kiss from the airbag is a doozey! Looks like I'm out a truck, and the insurance company will probably drop me.... Damn it, guess I'll just do the right thing.....go hunting tomorrow for the Opener! Illegitimus non carborundum est! Morning my wanker brothers!

Hunts, that 62 is in terrific shape. My 1890 has the most uniform patina on it I could imagine. Still shoots pretty well and functions fine but it ain't the prom queen. Gramps never cleaned a gun in his life.

Long story told short, my grand dad hid a 62 Winchester that his brother had stolen from a hardware store in the '40s. His brother had to join the army to keep from going to jail. Years later the same guy that stole the rifle it used it to commit suicide. It was eventually given to me as a graduation present, but my POS, worthless, white trash, spoiled rotten, uncle pitched a punk a$s fit and my grand dad took it back and gave it to him. He later pawned it for drug money. I then promptly broke two of his teeth. Quite a ruckus when an 19 year old kid kicks his 40 year old uncle's a$s. Got a soft spot for them old Winchesters. Not so much for relatives.

Thanks all.....she was pretty sore, but Ibuprofen and a good meal made her feel better. made her her favorite, Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. Bought her a 2002 Ford Focus yesterday so she would have a ride to get back and forth to work. Told her between her brother (he wrecked my 2011 Silverado last spring) and her, they had broke me! LOL No Christmas this year unless I sell some fishing tackle, etc.... LOL Yep, gonna go kill chit tomorrow, insurance comapny can fuggin wait for me to get back! Chit is gonna die!!
