Thanks, its been good luck so far. The little stubby has killed 4 elk. Its a pleasure to pack in the thick stuff here in N. Idaho.

Oh, I bet! I can't wait to get the Newton out hunting. 22" tube on it and man, it feels real handy as well. I will have to figure out how to put the elk track on the stock. That is too cool.

Mudhen, great picture and nice bull!

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Getting some good ideas for pictures. I rarely took any photos for the first thirty years that I hunted elk, and still don't take many of dead elk. I am usually too anxious to get them ready for butchering...

Awesome rifle there buddy. I love the fluted barrel on that 338. Sounds like it's got all the refinements a Ruger m77 needs. Is it glass bedded as well?? No doubt it's a good shooter too. I know mine is!!!

How about my elk rifle, out whitetail hunting? I'll be taking this M70 elk hunting next fall.

Hopefully this time next year I will have a dead elk to pose it on!

Not a typical elk rifle, but this one has been bloodied several times. One one trip it was used by 6 guys in camp to fill tags, another time by 8 guys. It has yet to bust a bull so I guess it is a cow gun. All of the elk taken were between 500 and 1187 yards.

It is too heavy to get very far from the truck with, but I have toted it a couple miles, once.

This is a little 280Ai I built between seasons. My wife bloodied it thanksgiving day. I am going to try and get at least one more with it in a couple days. 162 A-max give elk bad dreams.

I have too many rifles that are considered elk rifles to clutter up this thread with them, but these are a couple used this year.

Lots of great rifles, some fantastic field photos with lots of dead critters cool cool and a bunch of ugly pusses.

Some of you boys ought to put a sack over your head before you have your pictures taken. grin grin grin
