I'm still ready to mean [bleep] the cow shooter, Sammo. Kinda excited, actually. Bought a half gallon so I can talk my spear into it. Get him a little tipsy and he'll follow you anywhere.
Peace.

Anything east of Glendive Montana is 'east'….
Reason is that its crowded, and they raped the land to death long before I was born…..can't live like a rat in a maze.Knew I didn't belong there when I was 6 years old, got obsessed and tunnel visioned until I could get out of there at the ripe old age of 21.
Kudos on pulling that off! I pulled the same move...only to be 'pursuaded' by my wife and dying father to come back to Indiana. Though I greatly enjoyed my time 'out west' I'm not sure it was a good thing for me. Makes most days here a struggle as I now know what I'm missing. Your commentary a while back about there being nothing to do in the midwest so the make up chit to do (ie Apple Festival, Who Gives a Chit Festival, etc) was so right on the money! I try to make the best of it, but a chit sandwich is still chitty...

Pointer, was nothing to pulling it off in my case. Just priorities. It is hard to describe how I feel about the west ( specifically MT and WY) but of a certainty, if I weren't in the middle of them, it would be I who was dying. I never belonged anyplace else, and thats a horrible feeling when you are stuck elsewhere, even as a child. Most folks don't understand the sacrifices made to live here , job offers right out of college that surpass any money Ive ever made, the 'perfect' woman who couldnt leave her home in NC,leaving and knowing you'll never see most of your friends/family again ( there were five deaths the first year I was out here) and being somewhat disenfranchised from your family, who just don't understand, but continue to go to Pumpkin Festivals and the likeand live in an overcrowded rat race environment that frankly frightens me.

They were simply 'sculpting' the haystack! And you murdered #108! But at least you did it with a classy rifle.

I didn't have a dream about #108. I'm not into black chicks.
I started out in Georgia, kept going NW until I got to Kodiak then came about halfway back. I could easily end up back in the Rocky Mts somewheres.
Georgia is nice to visit but I'm always glad to get out.

I own an interest in a 500 acre unfenced pecan orchard with a pretty nice little deer herd that visits. Last year someone shot 8 deer one night and just left them to rot. It really smoked us. We put up game cams on all the entrance roads and it hasn't happened since.
Just wanton stupid destruction for the evil hell of it. I really wish we could have caught those folks.

Well done sir! My decision was made for the "right" reasons, just not my reasons! The part I bolded is what frightens me. I feel that way many days and I've only been here 3 years with life to go! I've got lots to be thankful for, just not my address... PS- Sorry for the Debbie Downer posts. Back to cows and boobs!
