Just heard that the Red line has been shut down and cops are checking the bags of some people in the subway. No confirmation of either. No other info available (to me), but lots of choppers in the air, and cops/fire all over downtown. Ha, ha. Funny guy. I thought we were supposed to duck and cover or something... ********************* The Red Line was shut down for 75 minutes as rush hour was beginning Thursday afternoon after a rider reported a suspicious bag on a train at Park Street Station, said MBTA Deputy Chief Kenneth Green. The MBTA Transit Police called in a bomb squad to examine the duffle bag, which had wires protruding and canisters inside. They determined that the bag was not a bomb and reopened the station at about 4:45 p.m., Green said. It was the second time in two days that the Red Line had been shut down. ********************************

Is the bomb scare over KG? Yes sir. False alarm, apparently. Bag with wires and canisters found on a train, but was determined to be something other than a bomb. I heard some murmurings about a bomb threat called in, but the rumor mill isn't ever what I'd consider to be a trustworthy source...

Imagine, all you have to do to shut down a city's metro system and tie up traffic for hours is to fabricate something that looks suspicious and drop it somewhere.

Imagine, all you have to do to shut down a city's metro system and tie up traffic for hours is to fabricate something that looks suspicious and drop it somewhere. They shut down the Red line, which is one of six subway lines that scoot around town, but it certainly didn't help some folks trying to get home, that's for sure. And yeah, unfortunately, in some places where real bombs have taken lives and torn innocents apart, people tend to take these things seriously and treat most as a real threat. Sad, but there it is.

I dunno', maybe folks who are seeking to get an education, or work in world class hospitals, or make six figures a year, or enjoy the myriad wonderful things it does have to offer?
