Anybody out there know who currently makes .270 Win. with 24" barrels? Think I need one more .270 before I quit buying guns and I have a shelf full of .270 bullets to use up. My last .270 was a WSM which for some reason I didn't especially like. I think a 24" barreled .270 Win. would not be far behind the WSM model.
Anyone?

Jim Remington 700 has a 24" barrel standard. If you MUST have a .270 ... that's a good choice

BTW ... velocity difference between a 22" and a 24" .270, ain't worth writing about, IMO.

1OntarioJim, Sako A7 has a new model for this year with a 24 inch fluted barrel in several calibres, .270 Winchester being one of them. Nice looking rifle!

Who started that 270 queer thing anyhow? I reckon if it ain't in their mouth, it's on their mind. I think I know, just want to be sure.

...Fuggit Bob. I have 2 now because of you. You 270 pusher you....: My old one (made in 1957). 270 fwt that I put into this Mcmillan hunters compact I got from O45. This one is a good all around rifle: Handles great and shoots well: I had to buy this one because it is slightly rare. It was made in 1980 and was one of the first XTR fwt's off the assembly line. It had been 17 years since anyone saw a new FWT, so a lot of collectors snagged these and held on to them. This was one was unfired and "NIB" when I bought it. Of course you know I'm going to shoot it ...: I like it bsa, you'll find out those are usually very good shooters. Both of those look good bud!
JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Thanks raybass, you are to blame as well .
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
