Nosler is made by Norma. Having used all 5 brands in various calibers my ranking goes like this 1. Norma 2. Lapua 3. Nosler 4. Remington, quality is inconsistent lately, but better than WW 5. Winchester, used to be good, now it's pretty much junk. Poor Q.C
IMO Oh yeah. The 308 and 243 I've tried lately has been terrible. I had a bag of Winchester 243WSSM and of the 50, 45 had split necks after only one firing.

I don't care about having to size the new brass that was not my concern just didn't want to buy 50 and half be junk I think you just answered the original question. In the conditions we have now if the main concern is whether you get a bag of dogs, then paying for quality brass is worth the peace of mind. The top 3 have had dogs go out, but they are very few and very far between.

I read that several posters are complaining of short case life. This got me thinking.
Consider that the neck diameter of a factory chamber has to be generous to fit the thickest neck wall. Add to this issue a FL die that has a tight neck dimension to neck down the thinnest brass then open it up with a sizer ball for proper neck tension.
Sure some brass might be poorly made but sloppy chambers and a tight necked FL die has to be a significant contributor to short brass life.

Well I'm reloading for hunting rifles 243,270,280,30-06,25-06,7mm-08 Many keep saying Lapua brass isn't worth it for hunting rifles. I don't use Lapua right now, but I do use Remington for everything and with the current prices, after I cull for neck uniformity I might think the price would be closer than most think... That said, the Remington brass I have purchased recently has been pretty darn good. Case necks is the only thing I measure anymore and I am considering just buying bags of 308win remmie hulls for use in my 7-08,s.

Have they got the case body diameter just forward of the extractor groove back close to .470", or are they still skimping?

Folds in the shoulders.
Specks of crap in the brass, like the base material was contaminated and put into production anyway.
Necks splitting after one firing.
Primer pockets not formed correctly, in particular being too shallow and having too large a radius at the bottom corner.
Being made with the smallest body diameter that I've measured just ahead of the extraction groove. Add to that inconsistent lengths to the point they half will not chamber in a standard factory chamber without significant trimming.
You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.
You cannot over estimate the unimportance of nearly everything. John Maxwell

I haven't had any problems using Remington bulk brass, it's not Lapua but I've been pretty lucky with it. Keep in mind, however, that in the current climate what brass you end up using is going to be dictated more by availability than what you really want to use. More than likely you're going to have to make do with what you can find.
