I've been in Tennessee when there is ice on the road...

very few folks down there have a clue on how to drive on it...

and even more clueless on figuring out they should just stay home...

but it can certainly be entertaining...

was down there once, heading to Chattanooga.. my relatives were surprised that I not only made it, but went over Mount Eagle with the ice... told them I took the old road up ad over ( US route)... their response was 'what about all the snow???.."

Living in MN at the time... they couldn't believe that when I told them, the snow was the easy part.. you can get traction on snow.. not on ice...

Ice and snow is certainly a good time to be in the auto body business in Tennessee...

Heck of a warning sign there, I'd say. smile

Hellfire, I lived most of my life in Canadia and lived 15 years in icy Wisconsin (world's worst winter driving conditions, I swear!) and when some of my Texas friends said, "Texans don't know how to drive on ice, at least you know how!", I replied,

"Yeah, I leave the pickup in the garage and walk to work. That's the only way to drive on ice."

Nobody drives well on Ice that's why we see multi-car pile ups in every state when there is ice. It's not just a Southern thing.

To put it politely, Southerners can't drive on a couple inches of snow, much less ice. Watching them drive in winter conditions is like watching a cub bear on a pair of ice skates.

Funny you mention that. That realtor sign was my .22 target stand from the bed of my truck, It's got hundreds of holes in it. grin

It's very thoughtful of realtors to make target stands for us. laugh

This guy rams a truck just to my left, happened to fast for a video.

Realty signs and political signs both. Snow's not bad, ice sucks.

Yeah, last Friday my boss said he drove his daughters car in to work. I was thinking cause it's older, etc, in case of an accident. Nope, it's all wheel drive so better on ice he says ... Hmmmmm...

Oh then someone points out my truck is 4wd, so must be good on ice... Wow! These folks don't get it that ice is SLICK and short of studs or chains, nothing makes much difference.
