I have a savage model 93 17hmr (pre accu-trigger) with a nasty trigger and was wondering what to do about it. I've looked at a rifle basix sear assembly (79.99) but have never played with one. Local gunsmith said he could do a trigger job for about 45.00 but does not think he can get the pull down low enough with the factory sear assembly. What to do???

Replace it with the Basix.

The Rifle Basix SAV R is a real simple change out. I put one in my 93 17HMR. Have is set at 2lbs. It breaks like glass with zero over travel. Made a fun rifle a real fun one.
Handgun Hunter no more. STILL LOVE THOSE .41's

I just smoothed the roughness off mine and it is very crisp.
