You don't need any of the premium bullets for deer. I've used 180 gr standard Speer hotcores for many years on deer and elk and they do an excellent job. They're also cheap compared to many other brands and they're accurate.

You are quite correct, I don't NEED premium bullets for deer. I also don't need a 30-06 for deer either.....could just keep shooting em in the ear with my .222 like my father taught me.

Since when does being practical have anything to do with how one enjoys their hobby <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />?

Shot my seating depth loads Sunday, started .090 off the lands to .030 off the lands. All shots 100 yards.

.090 = 1.25 MOA
.070 = 1.00 MOA
.050 = .75 MOA
.030 = .45 MOA BINGO!

Next round, .020 to .040

We had a mild winter, nice spring.....bet those deer gonna be a whole lot bigger this fall <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />.
