Correct, and there will be 300 some odd extra homicides and the same in traffic fatalities this year because they wont leave daylight savings time in place, but oh hell, lets have one nut and a theater shooting and they want ALL the guns.  Gunner

The natural selection nonsense I'll write off as...well...not really called for.
everyone says that till its their kid or grandkid then the majority change their tune... Heroin addiction and deaths are the result of choice, and free will. Bad choices have bad outcomes. Oh well........... Hard to dredge up sad feelings, when other's decisions cause such pain and suffering for their friends and families. No one to blame BUT the user.

Just trying to make up a new problem to get the heat off other things that matter to the country. opiates have been abused since man first figured out what that sap in poppy buds contained....several thousand years and there are still people abusing it....if you think its going to go away you have your head in the sand....humans are hard wired to look for highs....most get it through every day stuff without resorting to something like heroin or meth but there will always be part of the population that gravitates towards it....always gonna be drug abusers

No one to blame BUT the user. i mostly agree with you but ive watched a hell of alot of people go from, "they are just Darwin Award candidates, let them kill themselves" to "but he is a good kid that just needs a lil help" soon as its their family that has the problem....especially when its there own kids....

Let 'em croak. No sympathy here for heroin users. -yup ...lets weed the weak/dumb sob's out on the gene pool...even a dumdazz knows from the age of two what's right & wrong and if this new parentless society can't get a grip..... I sure ain't got time for bad breeding..

Legalize it in tent cities fenced off from everyone else.
then require anyone going in to spend 24 hours in a medical tent before they are allowed to exit the compound.
Give it to them free. Chunks as big as brownies, free clean needles and medical professionals too administer it.
Day 1 all heroin sales end.
All crime associated with heroin sales end.
All importation ends.
Then video the removal of the dead bodies, the decay off the people and the ones crawling out of the medical tent back to the needle instead of the real world outside.
Play the video to 5 th graders all over the country
