Have to agree with BradB and Doug, the Vortex Viper 6x32HD is something special. Mine aren't even the HD version but they are just plain great! I too find myself using them for more than just woods hunting. Out to 200 yds or so they are excellent(incredibly crisp and bright)!

A recent topic here on small binoculars: small binoculars 24HR I still favor the 32mm 7/12 Leupold Switch Power binos I have as the best for myself. The problem for others is that they are no longer made.

It's an alpha... Germans definitely make the best wood binoculars.

Well you guys talked me into a pair of the Leupy 6x30s. Found 'em for $79.95 shipped.
Read some reviews. They almost sound too good to be true, given the price.......

I like the Leupold 6x30's or the Kowa 6x30's. They appear to be the same binocular with only minor cosmetic differences. I own both and use them all the time. They're fantastic in thick cover.

I haven't seen this one come up but I really like the 7X26 Custom Compacts by Bushnell. I had an older pair from the 1970's and just got a new model to try out. I , too was impressed with the Vipers. Bruce

I am pleasantly surprised with the 6X30 Yosemites. For $80 they are easily the best binoculars I have ever seen, by far. The depth of focus is excellent. $hit kinda jumps right out at you. Very happy so far........
