well, I don't know what the accumulation average is, but I know I was laying in a good 16" of that crap on my driveway.

We're in for a long night, wind feels like 30-40 mph out of the NW.

Something clever here.

It's suppose to keep on like this until midnight before it begins to taper off.

I guess it's back to work about midnight for me to make sure ND's Buick has a clean spot to park. YEAH!!!!

Does he still make you put the flashing beacon with the lighted arrow to his parking spot?

We have a "seniors parking" that ND uses.

Why can't this beautiful white goodness come towards the end of December when we want it?

At least it would have been useful then. Now it just adds to the sloppy mess that is on it's way. Temps nearing 40* by the weekend.

I think Nate has a year to go, otherwise my graduation invite got lost in the mail......

we're supposed to be in the 50's this weekend, 30's all week means icy mornings and sloppy afternoons.

Spending a good chunk of the winter next year in TX is looking better all the time.

This winter got to me, and I am older. Time to get out of dodge while we can still travel. The wife and I we're in Wendover, NV for a few days and we had temps in the 60's. Sure did feel great. Down side is I came back with a major cold.

Snow stories! My lord, this winter has to end. I find myself bragging about the excessive snow, ice and low temps I have endured and survived this winter. (Yeah, I know. I can hear the "up north chorus" singing "If you want to experience winter come up here". Red Green would be proud.)

SE Pennsylvania trout season opened this past Saturday. One group of "potential" anglers were reduced to tossing quoits tied to rope onto the ice of a state-owned lake in an attempt to break open enough space to fish. Story in the local paper stated that 2 quoits were lost to the lake and no trout were caught. I'm eagerly awaiting the YouTube video!

Last March I was killing the Crappies from the first week of the month at another local lake. This year the ice just broke up last Wednesday and there are still large ice floes floating on the surface. Water temps are still in the mid 30's and the crappies remain AWOL. I verified this by fishedng the shallows Friday. I caught one 4 inch bluegill who evidently wasn't equipped with a GPS and wandered into my mylar jig. I don't know which of us was more surprised by the encounter.

Ray-I talked to my brother and he was heading up to his camper on Lake Erie. Way too much ice to even think about going out yet. By this time last year, he'd all ready gotten on the perch and walleyes in good numbers up there. We've still got a lot of ice up here in Minnesota, and it's looking doubtful that a good part of the state will have open water for the walleye opener in early May. The ice is getting bad on top, but guys were still driving on it last weekend.

We saw some clowns out on the lakes in Chisago Lakes area on Sunday. Not a chance I'd be out with a vehicle now!

Green Bay TV station showed a truck being pulled out of Lake Winnebago near Oshkosh on Monday. Guy drove out to pull his brothers truck out after one wheel broke through the ice.

Wolf River is starting to break up. Northern lakes will not open up until sometime in May. Same as last year.

Dave, how much snow did you end up with?

ND's spot has been cleaned since 5am but it's still empty???????

Been pushing the white fluff since 1am & just now took a break.

I'm guessing well over 12" & heard a lot of local reports of 18".

I have drifts in my yard over 6' deep but bare ground in other spots.. That wind really did a number.

I was in no hurry this morning. I slept in until the sun was coming up, then I got up, had some coffee, started the ole plow truck and cleared a path out to the hwy so we could all get out to the world today.

I'll finish up with the plowing tonight.
