How hard/easy is it to take a Rem take off barrel and put it on a Win push feed? I have a shotout Win 243 and have found a good 22 inch Rem barrel, can it be done? Bend
The Remington barrels are material safe and can be converted to the Winchester. Remington threads are 1 1/16" - 16 tpi, the Winchester push feed threads are 1" - 16 tpi. Check the cost of the smithing, it might be you want to consider a good custom barrel for the job. Generally you can buy a good Chrome Moly barrel for $150, Stainless around $225.

Bend,

GPC had/has a lot of new Winchester Model 70 barrels for less than $100. I agree with Carbon, you might be ahead of the game with a Shaw barrel.

Sincerely,

Bearrr264

Thanks for the replys. The Rem bbl replacement is a custom moly take off that is avaliable because the last owner went to carbon. Smithing charges of about $150 with bluing will apply to getting it on a Win. Bend
