Great photos KG! Looks like a hell of a time! $40 fuggin bucks for a haircut though?! That ain't livin'.....thats robbery The trick to city living is knowledge. You can spend $40 on breakfast, or you can pay $3... You can pay $50 for a haircut in SoHo or pay $7 in Queens... Same idea goes for just about everything. The reason we shopped in NJ, just across the river, is not because we can't get those same things in NYC, but for four bucks in gas there and back we saved ~$120 on what we needed for the house...

As for living in NYC or any city for that matter I would eat sh*t and run rabbits before I'd do that.
I'll have to echo BCR's comment. Food looks WONDERFUL and I would take a sample of it all. But pard drop my ass off in this with a book of matches and a pocket knife and I would be way more at ease than in that city. by the way there is a dead bull elk in the center of that pic Closeup... or even out here... and I will make do....but cities give me the heebie jeebies....heck I can't take too much of Cabela's in Sidney, NE when they get busy !

How does that song go?
You can send me to hell or New York City - it'd be about the same to me.

I understand 100%, really I do. Those places you show are heaven to me. Alas, to be able to do what I want in life, for now, we need to keep working, and my/our work is in the city. We make the best of what we have, and keep plugging away. BTW, that's a terrific bull. Mean of you to shoot him in his wallow, though.

Next time you're down in the city give me holler, I would love to meet up with you guys, hell you could stay at my place in PA I could have you in Manhattan in hour and 20 minutes. I was born in Staten Island , Moved out of the city in 1989 and been commuting ever since. 25 years, commuting from Pennsylvania to New York every day. It's amazing what you can do, get in New York. My brother lives in Manhattan retired New York City detective, narcotics then homicide, he was plainclothes his whole career. my God the stories :-) it is an amazing place anything you want any time of the day or night. I only go there for the money other than that it is a [bleep] hole don't care for the people or the environment much but when you want to play it can be a lot of fun. I got a kick out of your photos, can relate to all of it. Glad to see you had a good time.

You can send me to hell or New York City - it'd be about the same to me. Yeah, well for the week a year I probably spend there, I can survive and even manage a smile and a few good meals; try to make the best of whatever I'm having to work with. My lass's work is largely in NYC. If she can't get back and is on a long trip, I'll go to her, come hell or high water. And if I see Satan at the bar, shyt, I'll buy him a drink too. All good. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't...

We maintain an apartment in SoHo, so no need for anywhere to stay, but would be happy to meet up and fool around, share some good food and good drink and have a few laughs. I'll holler at you via PM.

Funny,I'm working in soho,West &Clarkson. Worked WTC on and off since,911. Ha. Small world. The apartment is on MacDougall a block south of W Houston and a block east of 6th Ave. The lass was in lower Manhattan the day the towers got hit. Minutes after I saw the second plane hit I called her. Could not get through. Did not hear back for two weeks. That was a difficult time...

Very small world :-) yes I know the area. Tell your better half I saw the second plane hit and the buildings come down myself. The next day I was working there. that was a life changer for me, and I am sure for her and you:( We need to get together next time you are in town.
