Great news!

Is it an implanted defibrillator? Never heard of one that's worn on the outside.
No it's not internal. It's called a Life Vest. I wear this thing that kind looks like a vest turned around backwards. There's a set of sensors that go roughly across the bottom of my rib cage, and two big sensors that straddle my spine right below my shoulder blades. I wear a battery pack on a strap which connects to the vest. Should my heart go out of rythm, the battery pack gongs and alerts everyone to not move away from me, and I would be shocked. It has a control button I could use for a false alarm, but it does function automaticlly otherwise in case I lose consciousness.
Thanks. Didn't realize they had those.

My sister got the implanted kind about fifteen or twenty years ago. Never heard of the vest type, though.

Gophergunner,

All this time that you have been praying for Sherri and myself, I had NO IDEA that you had this battle of your own going on! I am so sorry to hear about the heart problems, but now it is my turn to pray for you, my friend.

Glad for this bit of good news, for sure!

They have discussed an implanted defibrillator with me. If my heart function doesn't improve enough, that's the next option. I plan on closely adhering to the exercise, diet, and medicine regimen to get this turned around. The next 6 weeks are crucial to that decision process.

It goes without saying, and I've all ready told this to many people I've spoken to here, but anyone passing through the Twin Cities area of Minnesota is welcome to stop by for a bite to eat and a cup of coffee-the front porch light, and the coffee pot are always on. I can't begin to thank everyone enough here for the prayers and kind comments. You are a very special group, that's for sure.
