America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Travis,
You made mention of a 44 you'd shot & liked. Sounds appealing for late night TX piggies.
Details on the canned 44 if ya will?

I did not own it. It was my buddy's. He had it built by this guy: http://www.srtarms.com/Wicked dude. Absolutely wicked. Load them to 950ish and it makes no sound. But a bullet weighing 240-300ish will kill the [bleep] out of anything. I've shot quite a few suppressed weapons and the 77/44 trumps them all. Ridiculously quiet and practical. If I were to order one today I'd get a fast twist Douglas rather than use the factory. The factory won't spin the heavies. Travis

I should have mentioned, if you go to "products" on his website you'll see the 77/44 build.

Wow, that's a lot of can...., I'd like to try one on a Ruger carbine (auto), I guess the internal tube fed 44 carbine would crowd the suppressor? Would need the clip version. Who would make a fast twist Ruger carbine barrel? Getting expensive already. DMc

More thoughts...
I'm thinking those internal magazine 44's were blow back operated instead of gas? Sub-sonic might not cycle the action?

Auto and suppressed just makes things more complicated.
Just find a 77/44 and call SRT. Douglas makes plenty of fast twist .44 cal barrels.

Googling Suppressed 44s, by far the majority of shooters favor the 77/44. The 96/44 is awesome cool, and comes in a close 2nd, but the boat paddle stocked stainless suppressed 77/44 is hands down the (a) winner!
Sorry for throwing a rabbit trail into your thread.

I like rabbit trails.
I really would like to get one and probably will eventually. But 44's and open prairie don't exactly go hand in hand...

If possible an integrally suppressed Marlin 1894 would almost be enough to make me sell a kidney.

I'm not sure an integrally suppressed 1894 would be possible due to the magazine tube. But a 16" 1894 with a short threaded suppressor would only gain ~ 2" in length over a 20" rifle. Though most of the available 45 suppressors on a 16" barrel would approximate the length of a 24" barreled rifle.

I wouldn't spend 5 seconds of thought on that project.

If I could build a Ruger bolt action in 45 Colt, I would be all over it.
A takedown, suppressed lever action 45 Colt would be where it's at, for me. I'd want to run a Silencerco Osprey (the rectangular suppressor) so I wouldn't need higher sights.

Lately I've been getting my jollys launching subsonic 162 grain Amax's from a 7mm-08 Ackley, unfortunately sans can for now. Must try...

This sumbitch is doing alright with next to zero work. Some pretty brutal wind out there but the 69gr Sierra is doing well enough at the 250. And the 300+ Travis

Put the boom cap on there to see how it would do with a 70gr Hot-Cor for deer this season. Four shots. No idea what happened with #3 but when the trigger broke I said "[bleep]." Probably just the DT's getting the best of me. Same POI as the Sierra so she's good to go... Travis
