The bergers are an option but I have seen the 75 amax kill the sh*t out of stuff in my 223s and my buddy's middlestead. I have a hard time not using something that works that well.

They'd be my first choice but they're hard to come by right now.

I put a 1:9" Shilen on my 700 faux TI. Works well with the weights you mention.

Let me guess? Your inventory of 22-250's matches your inventory of ammo?

Too [bleep]' funny.

23" 1-7.7" Krieger,75'Max at 3450fps...via 22-250AI.

[Linked Image]

250 zero at 2500' elevation,2 Mils to 600,5.7 Mils to the 1000yd line. Erector has 22.5Mils remaining, which is better than a mile. The reticle alone, will get it to 1300yds. 5 Mils of wind 10mph full value, happens at better than a mile.

AKA "cheating".(grin)

I was wondering if you still shot that rifle. The "tweener" concept is still a good one in my book.

Anybody make an 8" .22/250, or do you have to go custom?

Custom 1-8 for sure, I had a great little Tikka in 22-250 but the 1-14 twist sucked for anything over 53 gr.

Had it been a 1-8 I would still have the gun.

I did a little poking around on the WWW, and the fastest factory twist I've found so far is the RAR at 1in10.

The .223 is a 1in8, I guess because that's pretty much standard in ARs.
