Once or twice a year I try out Scheel's in Eau Claire.. Lots of stuff there. Not cheap by any means.. Oh, and I haven't seen any 22 ammo there yet, other than a couple boxes of Eley target at $18+/box..
I DID see two boxes of .327 Federal though last time.. THAT surprised me..

I love Scheels and Sportsman's. The rest pretty much suck.
The original Gander in Kenosha was cool.

i watch the gander ads for the sales. i've got some deals on crossbows and hunting clothes and the occasional used gun there. but its kind of like a gun store for non-gun people. i see people in there buying those overpriced glocks and rem 700's all the time. and its f'd up too because one of the best gun stores in this part of the state is down the same road about 5 miles. gander for guns is like new years eve for drunks. amateurs only.

Used to be great for my mail order needs (20 years ago)
They suck now
They seem to go out of their way hire uninformed jerkwads. However I will say that Dicks picks up the dumbasses that get fired from Gander Mountain and Burger King. Impossible to argue with you on that. Dick's is well-named.

When GM came to GB they killed off the best sporting goods store we had. Now Cabela's is doing the same to them and I'll not shed a single tear.
GM is routinely very high on their prices - 14 bucks a BOX HIGHER than Fleet Farm on 45 Colt.
I'll never darken their door again.

I walk around Gander when I'm bored, but always leave empty handed.

Round here - Dick's does it on the strength of their golf department. When I was a golfer - it's where I got all my stuff.

I walk around Gander when I'm bored, but always leave empty handed. Me too. Sometimes I run over there on my lunch hour, walk around and chuckle at their prices and leave. I'm usually one of 2 - 5 customers in the store. They can't be making any money and I expect them to close soon. Sportsmans WH couldn't make it either. Which is a shame. I liked that store. Scheels is ALWAYS packed though.

I live a few miles from Dicks and GM. I am VERY familiar with GM and never impressed. Reloading supplies are almost non-existent now, and ammo prices are ridiculous. I don't buy much factory ammo anyway.
Best thing GM sells is their carpenter jeans. I buy 2 pair for like $30 and they are excellent. I have gone through many pairs through the years.
After hunting season is over, they have some good deals on camo clothing. Their H2O camo is very good. I have a GM turkey vest that I love, also....
