Been dealing with a GERD/reflux issue since last fall following a three month treatment of prednisone for mold infection.
On a new med for reflux and hope it works, but they are looking at going down the pipe to take a look. I've had a colonoscopy and that was nothing (at least in my eyes).
What can I expect for this procedure? The thought of me deep throating anything gives me the heebie jeebies. Anything to it?
Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

Just don't be copying my endo copy. Nothing to it. I just relax and let the dr do it in his office.

I've had a colonoscopy and that was nothing (at least in my eyes). They put it in the wrong place! If you can take it up the pooper, down the throat will be a piece of cake. It's a thin, coated fiber-optic.

Total Breeze.!
Check in, put on the gown, get the IV, wheeled to surgery room, bite down on thread spool looking gizmo, lights out....wake up, fumble getting dressed, go home.!

If ya got good insurance, you're good to go.
I didn't,..and had to let the barber do mine.
He come at me with an old Poloroid Swinger camera duct taped to a plumbers snake.
I had to back out.
He acted like his feelins were hurt,...so I let him get his vise grips outta the autoclave and pull a rotten tooth instead.
He was all grins after that.

I'll ask my daughter. She works at a major hospital here doing scopes from the north and south poles.

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom. If they give you a choice, have the Upper GI done first. It tastes better that way.

Yep, piece of cake. You go in, they knock you out, you wake up, and you go home. No worse that a Sunday afternoon nap.

I was awake all during mine and it was no big deal. The actual procedure with the tube inside took about 5 minutes
