Is the name of my new business.

I had to share this news with my campfire friends here, because I'm goofy like that. (and very excited)

[Linked Image]

This has been in the works for quite a while. In dream form I'd say...... a strong 3 decades.

In "urgent dream form" I'd say for 2 years now.

And "hey we're doing this for real!", I'd say about 3 months now.

Classic auto restoration will be my business function.

I'm putting up a new shop on our rural home property which is directly accessible by decent paved roads.

It wont be long now and I will wake up in the morning, have coffee with the wife, make breakfast for the boys, chat with them a bit before they leave for school... Then I walk out to my shop and do my thing. Full time, in a shop that's purposely built for auto restoration work, designed for me, by me....

Wow.

"Dave, what are you going to be when you grow up?"

"I prefer not to grow up."

grin

If you are serious and wish to bring it down so that we can map out an exact plan for the car together, I can answer that question.

1st generation mustangs are great cars by the way, love em.

There's one thumbs up (the responsible party is lurking, remaining unnamed until campfire critique is finished)

Dave, how do you repair the rusted out panels?

remove and replace, sometimes complete panels, sometimes partials. (I weld, no panel glue for me, all metal)

No problemo, especially for the 1st gen mustangs.

Dave, back, and that is a big back, in 1961 in high school, I filled dents, and painted a 1929 Ford Model "A", cabriolet, complete with landau irons for a local couple..
It turned out pretty sharp, but I'm smarter now. No filler for me.

I rode in our homecoming parade in the rumble,(mother-in-law), seat. A lot of fun, and the whole story is longer than that.

I'll use filler but it's for skimming, some of it that I use is applied so thin that it's actually sprayed on and most of it gets sanded off. It's for fine tuning, leveling the classic body lines, often times better than they were when they were new.

Very cool ND.

I like to watch Gas Monkey Garage and Counting Cars on tv. I can't do it, but it's fun to watch anyway. Taking an old rusted heap and make it new again looks like fun.

After seeing what you can do, I have no doubt that you can make it work.

You obviously have the talent and the work ethic.

The only piece of advice I have is,..don't forget to handle the business end of it.

It's a pain in the butt,...but it's how you convert work into money.
