The 7x57 may not make this trip. Aw, take the Mauser. Eleanor O'Connor would have.
"An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown

Now, if I was as good a shot as Eleanor, maybe. She didn't miss, cooly nailing everything she shot at. Me, I need all the technological advantages I can come up with... Besides, I don't yet know how well this CZ is going to shoot. I've cleaned the bore and done the Dyna Coat thing. We'll just have to see how she performs. And, I can't find out until my docs turn me loose. The rotator cuff saga should be about over, the retina fix, probably June. Getting old ain't for sissies... DF

Dang, got to wait until June to shoot. If it shoots like like other CZ's I've owned,it'll be accurate enough for Antelope.

I'll post my results with loads that work and those that don't.
I'm going to start with 162 A-Max and 168 VLD's. I have a good stock of 7mm bullets but would like to have a good load with sleek, heavier bullets.
I have a good supply of appropriate powders but hope Norma MRP works well as I recently picked up an 8# jug.
We'll see.

BTW, if anyone can use a factory CZ single set trigger, I'll ship this one at no cost, I'll even cover the postage. You'll have to get the broken part from CZ and I don't know what that would cost, shouldn't be much. Otherwise, this thing will bang around my parts box forever and be of no use to anyone.
I did have it adjusted to a clean 2 1/2# pound single stage pull. I was not planning to do the Timney swap until the part broke.
With a new part, it should adjust to the same 2 1/2# pull. It could be adjusted back to a single set trigger if desired.

As you suspect the difference between the 7x57 , 7mm08 and 308 are small and indiscernible on game. However that is not a bad group to be in and you are getting a nice rifle for a good price. Like someone said I would try it and if it shoots good I'd probably do some work on the stock oil it up and go hunting.
