I wonder how "accidentally" those pits got out of the garage.

Whether it was Pitbulls that attacked her and her dogs, or Rottweilers, or even other German Shepherds, she was perfectly justified to act in self-defense. I've been in that sort of situation many times while walking one of my Pitbulls, but the attacking dogs were usually non-Pitbulls, such as Rotts, Great Danes, Boxers, an Akita, and a Mastiff. In all cases, the Pitbull I was walking was able to convince the attacker of the ill-considered nature of their actions. Well, all but one, i.e., the huge male Akita totally dominated my little female Pitbull (hardly a year old), and didn't care that I was kicking it the whole time. Had I a knife on me, I might have done to it what this woman did.

PS My little female Pitbull survived the attack and lived to be nearly sixteen years old, put to sleep in the 1990s due to lung cancer.

Personal accountability is lost on that pitbull owner. She'll probably end up suing the woman protecting herself and her dogs.

"The lady was walking around, I think, with the intent to kill the dog" I hope she was being that deliberate in her defense. Worked out real good for her.

"Who walks around with a butcher knife?" Someone bent on coming out alive on the other side. Good for her.

Good quality to have when reading meters around people's houses... wink

There is something wrong in our country when people have to resort to carrying knives for protection.

I've experimented with carrying large knives, but have never found a comfortable system for concealing them in the sort of clothing typically warn in Florida. I guess my Model 13 Smith & Wesson will have to do if attacked by a brace of fearsome dogs.

Before it's over with, you'll see a lot more people carrying knives for protection.

FWIW, Mrs. Tide is pretty "knifey" herself. She's usually got at least a couple on her.
