Yep, Cooked up some pork chops with some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. The Mrs made some of her great potato salad to serve with it.

with my antelope burgers I mix a little breakfast sausage in there about a 1:4 ratio, they stick together better and are juicy as heck.

my girls will get home this evening and hopefully I am done with the garage, the last big project to cross off my list. all renovations are done, rooms painted, trim put on and I can finally relax and breathe! just in time to sell the house LOL.

if anyone is curious here's the link to the virtual tour to see what we've done on upgrades. I'll take the link down in a day or so.

Tomorrow is a day we remember those who gave all, most are from before my time. some I know and served with.

Friday morning I am leaving to go to my part time job at the gun shop. Walk out into the garage and hit the button to open the garage door(double wide door) and it will not open but about an inch.I looked to see if anything is blocking it in some way and see nothing.Hit the button again and it does the same thing.
Upon closer inspection I see that the lift assist spring has broken.Disengage the lift and try to open the door manually.Too heavy.Call my neighbor and with two of us trying we cannot open the door. I call my lift guy and he says no use trying to open it without the spring.Too heavy.
So here I am with two cars in the garage which I cannot get out.
What a helpless feeling.
I borrowed my neighbor's truck to get to work and lift guy came and put in a new spring in the afternoon.
I am almost tempted to park one car outside from now on.

Thanks,Mule1. The lift guy was very prompt in answering the service call. He had it fixed in just a couple of hours.

I too have fought the battle of garage door springs. Not something I ever want to do again.

LOL, I'm sure it has been changed since the photo smile

I'm actually in the process of starting a side business specializing in garagedoors. my dad did that when I was growing up and I just leanred from him. I bet I've installed and repaired over 400 doors at least. if I was closer Stan I woulda come and helped. sounds like you had a tech there in less time than a flight for me smile

I did go truck shopping. I'm not quite ready to buy but want to know what I want going in so it's as quick as possible. I looked at the f150 super crew and 2 different Ram 1500's. Let me tell you there's quite a difference between the two levels of Ram. The first one was a 1500 express. Nicely equipped, crew cab 4x4. Then the Ram Big Horn. Well....that was flat out the nicest truck I've ever driven and not really comparable to the Express. Or the f150, really.
That said, it was $4k more than both of them.

The f150 was nice and the interior was quite different than even my 2011 was. I liked it better than the Ram Express, but nit better than the Big Horn.

I have a while. The salesmen both said rebates and programs will get better with summer. The said there isn't much right now, but all 3 trucks could be had for $7k less than sticker, and with me telling them out of the gate I wasn't buying today.
