I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank ( ??) Bill Clinton, and that bizzarre "Bad Lady"........Madeline Albright for staging , prepping and laying out all the critical ground work for this Idiotic situation <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />..................being ramrodded by an idiotic ( Albeit dangerous) clown, with a bad haircut, and mental illness <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />.

Just ONE American carrier battle group has a firepower that is simply mindboggling and we Canadians should build at least FOUR such battle fleets. We start with stopping ALL funding for Bilingualism, multiculturalism, aboriginal programmes (over 11 billion per annum here), immigrant settlement services, arts and culture funding, especially the CBC and sports funding of all types, especially the bullschitt Olympics.

We had the THIRD LARGEST NAVY on Earth in 1945, given our enormous landmass ( we also are ENTITLED to Greenland) and incredible coast lines PLUS the CANADIAN Northwest Passage, we need a large, state-of-the -art Navy, plus matching Air Force and Army.

We also need a Special Service Division, an elite "Spec Force" unit, known as the "Viking Brigade" to deal with, for example "Caledonia" in the way it should be dealt with....bang, flop, dead radical Injuns!

So, REAL Canucks must get on with it, our Yank friends would certainly welcome this and we should have weapons commonality with them and the Aussies, Brits and New Zealanders, 'cause it's comin', sure as politicians lie!

I've heard rumors there is a severe tp shortage in N. Korea, and their pants are already soiled. The photo would cause a reasonable person to pause and consider, question remains...is Kim reasonable?

Yeah, here's to Maddy Halfbright, who once opined, "What's the sense of having the most powerful military force on Earth if you don't use it?" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

I wonder just how nuts Kim might be... I read one post suggesting the possibility that he might use this "test" as a Trojan horse electric magnetic pulse air burst attack. IIRC Barak posted that the effectivness of such an attack is overrated... so I feel kinda better. The other point that I have been reading about is that it is really hard to take the fuel back out of such a system<think really bad work accidents> and that it can't stay fueled for more that a week. Something about the fuel being really corrosive.
I'm not bored.

Under the final terms of the Agreed Framework approved in October of 1994, Clinton agreed to provide the "Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea" (DPRK) with two light water nuclear reactors and a massive allotment of oil. The U.S. agreed to ship 500,000 metric tons of oil annually in response to the North's pretense that the energy-starved backwater had developed the nuclear facility to generate power. These shipments have cost taxpayers more than $800 million to date - a bargain compared with the $6 billion spent on constructing the nuclear reactors, which now empower North Korea to produce 100 nuclear bombs each year.

The system is basically a hopped up Howitzer.....SCUD on steroids, with boosters.

Oh, how crude.................?

Methinks not..........check out the source country for the chips / boards in your DVD player, Keyboard, whatever...........they're not half bad...........

big "Hush Hush" deal out here , some years back...........all the scrap from Fort Huachuca was being sent to the Pacific Rim, after the new DRMO " sole provider" rule went into effect. All that meant , basically was that you and I .....the folks that bought and paid for the stuff.......could no longer bid on MilSurp.........A whole bunch of harddrives, with integral data onboard were shipped.
Tragic, it happened right under our noses. And NOW ( albeit too late), it's no secret.

I say blow the thing up on the pad...........after evaccing our troops. That "DMZ" assignment has been considered a sacrificial offering for too long.

North Korea is just miffed that Iran, without ANY nukes gets all sorts of special deals, and NK, with many nukes is getting dissed. All they want is some respect. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Were talking nuclear stuff here North Korea and Iran should be soiling themselves over what they cant see

The Ohio Class Ballistic Missile Submarines, with 24 Trident II D5 Ballistic missiles that can hold up to 12 W76 - MIRVs (but currently limited to 8 by the SALT treaty). Each MIRV is independently targetable and carries a warhead of up to 100 kilo-tons of destructive power. (thats 96 warheads per submarine) After the completion of the VLS (vertical launch system) in 2010 (some have already been converted), it will also carry 154 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAMs) for conventional attacks. The SSBN-726 (Ohio) class submarines are powered by a nuclear reactor that can go for nearly 30 years without refueling and its so quiet that not even we can track it.

The Ohio Class Boomer can sneak within a few miles of an enemy coastline and launch a low trajectory attack giving less than 5 minutes warning. These missiles are accurate enough to hit a land based silo, giving us a real first strike capability that could neutralize enemy ICBMs

This is the most destructive, fearsome weapon ever created by mankind, capable of destruction beyond our wildest imagination.

The US currently operates 18 Ohio Class SSBNs (10 in the Atlantic fleet, and 8 in the Pacific fleet). USS - Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, Henry M. Jackson, Alabama, Alaska, Nevada, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Nebraska, Rhode Island, Maine, Wyoming, Louisiana

18 Ohio Class SSBNs equals 1,728 100kt warheads Thats nuclear deterrence and I think we should be reminding these little dick(s) tators that were the only nation on earth crazy enough to use them.

So, for all those half-assed wanna-be Hitlers You really dont want to go there.

Yeah but... Iran's Prez really seems to think that he is the 12th goat humper<or something like that<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />> whose role is to bring on an end times war so that islam<pork drippings be upon it> can rise up from the ashes and rule the world.
Kim.... well just look at the man's haircut.... plus there is no telling what China and Russia are whispering into his ear. BTW, have you noticed how "Old Europe" is starting to warm up some toward the USA?

There's some part-truth to Mannlicher's statement:

"North Korea is just miffed that Iran, without ANY nukes gets all sorts of special deals, and NK, with many nukes is getting dissed. All they want is some respect. .."

N. Korea seems to be showing that the 'selective' sanctions which our own nation and the other nations who decide just WHO can be armed, ONLY want to sanction or invade countries which cannot fight back effectively or with whom such a conflict would be costly to the global big business-banking MIC..
They want to be part of the gravy train of the global MIC..

Why hasn't Israel been sanctioned or invaded or had their government couped and then made to comply with non proliferation and IAEA requirements for these many years since they covertly built the nuke weapons palnt at Dimona?

The double standard vexes many nations and N.Korea with their 1-4 million man army is simply AGAIN telling the war mongers and empire builder-invader-destroyers that they need to put up or get some sort of equitable standards in place even for countries who aren't our buddies or arse-lickers...OR just buy them off ike usually is done..

Now before you get all wound up on my perspectives, know this:
I have one of my career militarty sons who is stationed in Korea as I write this...For his air base to be overun would not require any missles..jim

Israel is and has been the most cunning manipulator of global politics ever as they continually use the "Holocaust" to make other nations feel guilty and thus support their genocidal activities in the Middle East. I am extremely suspicious of Israel, the Zionists and those who support them; I do NOT want them to join NATO, for example, as I do not want Canadian boys sent to die for "Eretz Yisrael" and the Jews, under ANY circumstances.

We have bled to save the Jews already and they re-paid our sacrifice by the "King David Hotel" bombing, the covert misuse of Canadian passports by Mossad agents and certain high-profile Jews in Canada, who dominate our mass media, actually stating that England and Canada assisted Hitler in the "Holocaust" by the terms of the "Balfour Agreement". I have zero sympathy for the Jews and Israel.

Pee in their pants? I doubt it.

Let us not fall into the age-old trap of underestimating our enemies.

Lots of folks are willing to die for their principles, even the wrong principles.

My brother is on the USS Kitty Hawk. The carrier pictured in the middle. He is home based in Japan and gets to come to the states in October. He will then be stationed at Dobbins Air Base in Georgia. I can not wait. He has been in Japan for two years. He sent me a similar picture two days ago. See attachmnet.

kutenay,

In 1948, who started the "genocide?"
In 1967, who started the "genocide?"
In 1973, who started the "genocide?"
In 1982, who started the "genocide?"

I understand your dislike for Israel since they have done a few things to piss off Canada (and just about every other nation in the world). But we must remember who the aggressors are in the Middle East. In 1948 Israel was attacked by 5 Arab nations just 20 minutes after declaring independence. In 1967 the same 5 nations massed troops on the borders of Israel and Israel didnt wait for the attack. In 1973, the same 5 nations made another go at it and nearly caused WWIII. In 1982 Lebanon was caught red handed in State sponsored terrorism and Israel invaded (and honestly got out of hand). In the case of the 6 day war, Israel kept some of the land taken, but has been giving it back piece by piece ever since. In all other cases, the land taken was given back. Their goals were military and defensive only.
(if you ask me, after 3 attacks, Israel is entitled to keep a little land but thats just my opinion)

If Israel does things that we dont like, its because the stakes are much higher for them than they are for any of us. We dont live amongst those who would have us exterminated, so how can we sit in judgment of their actions for defense? After 9-11, the US completely conquered two nations, yet we hold Israel to a different standard when it comes to the employment of force. Israel has conquered NO nations and has suffered a hundred times over in comparison to the US.

The only destabilization that Israel brings to the area is their mere existence. They have no intentions of imperialistic gains or extermination of their neighbors. (a 1990 defense department evaluation determined that if need be, Israel could defeat the militaries of the entire Middle East in about 30 days. This was a philosophy gained from South Africas Capetown to Cairo in 30 days when Israel and South Africa trained together.) On the other hand, literally every other Middle Eastern nation is ok with the thought of taking Israel and making it Palestine, and theyre equally ok with the complete extermination of the Jews Im not understanding which side youre on or why?
