Check out this prototype of a Super Duty that caught fire for unexplained reasons. Fire reveals prototype Ford truck's secret Published August 04, 2014 FoxNews.com Chris Doane Automotive A prototype Ford pickup caught fire and burned to the ground a few weeks ago, possibly revealing a big secret about the next generation Series Super Duty truck in the process. An automotive spy photographer was on the scene in California, when a fire broke out in the drivers side front wheel well of the heavily camouflaged vehicle, which was ironically towing a trailer with a water tank mounted to it. The driver promptly pulled over to the side of the road and all of the passengers got out safely, but within three minutes the entire truck was engulfed in flames. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but a Ford spokesperson confirmed to FoxNews.com that while testing an experimental vehicle in Death Valley, there was a fire. We are investigating. No one was injured during the incident, but after 21 minutes and several explosions the fire was out and the only things left were the trucks frame, engine block, and blobs of melted aluminum. The last of those apparently confirms that the next F-Series Super Duty will join the upcoming 2015 F-150 in using lightweight aluminum bodywork, a radical change for the segment. Although Ford has not yet confirmed it, the new Super Duty F-Series is expected to hit the road in 2016.

My brother drives a new F250 every two years. He says he has been stranded on the side of the road 4 times in the last 10 years. His 2013 left him stranded 2 mo ago hauling fishing tools to a drilling rig before daylight. Some kind of $400 sensors went out and it was not covered. His business partners F250 had done the same thing a couple months before that.

They do. National truck of Texas.
Brown female mothers of four to six prefer them. It's amazing what Dimocraps can afford when they claim to be unwed and get free medical, food, and schools and hubby works in the oilfield at $85,000 and skips out a week before welfare workers show up to check the $150,000 home for papa.

Driving a 1996 F250 crew cab as well as a 2004 version...no problems of consequence yet. Got to love a brand brasher I guess.....

So I guess Chevys and Toyotas are fire proof? Truck threads are like glock threads.

Thankfully, our tax dollars didn't burn up since Ford didn't take the bailout. Ford will get things worked out. Now if it was a Chevy or Dodge I'd be upset watching our tax dollars burn up.

Put more magnesium in 'em! It's big fun throwing water on them when they're ripping..
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Better to have the prototype go up in flames and get the problem resolved. Saves money in law suits and recalls.

I'll never buy a new vehicle, but if I did, it would be a Ford. Better truck. No bail out money. Win-Win.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

My 99 super duty ( i have owned it for 12 yrs) garage kept. Has never broken down and left me stranded.
With the exception of the spark plugs, **most** parts and maintenance are friendly design and easy to work. Can do a set of brakes in a snap. No dummass star and torx chit like some GM trucks I have worked on. Grrrrrr!!!
