I sent them an email to ask for further clarification and that if they did in fact support HSUS that they would alienate many.




We would like to respond to our loyal customers and provide additional information about recent posts on social media regarding a monetary donation to a local animal care organization. Our post inaccurately stated that a donation was made to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Moreover, the post itself was inappropriate under the circumstances.


Family members of an employee who recently passed away requested that, in lieu of flowers, co-workers donate funds to the Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island, a local association founded in 1978 to solve community issues primarily related to stray cats. They are not affiliated with HSUS as the posts incorrectly stated.


The money is not a corporate donation, but a collection of personal contributions from employees with the intent of remembering a beloved co-worker. While our intentions were good, the use of corporate social channels under these circumstances was inappropriate.


Muck Boots has a heritage of respect for the outdoors and for nature. We apologize for the anger and confusion the posts have caused and have removed them from our social channels.

I can't believe someone would go straight to the source and ask a question. Don't you know that's not the way the pot is to be stirred?

For penance you should be required to make 3 posts asking for information no one on the campfire knows about but is readily available by going right to the source. Each post must contain at least one of the following tones:
1. ignorant fool
2. whiny beatch
3. angry grown child

Hardly just an animal shelter.

Running through the pages of their site does not make me feel better about Muck...

Think I will send a request for a donation from Muck for the Alaska Fly Fishers and see how they respond...

Better yet, ask them to send some product and a check to your local D.U. banquet event, and tell them you will use the money to purchase a shotgun that will be drawn as a door prize...

The shelter they claim to have sent the donation to denies receiving anything from Muck, so unless it was sent under the deceased's name or another name not related to Muck, Muck is full of chit and back paddling big time.

Muck didn't send a donation, it was money from employees of Muck that sent money in lieu of flowers.

Well, that's what they claim after losing about 60% of their business overnight, anyway...

Then why did the company representative for Muck post a photo of Muck boots and hashtag a link that was labeled "Fundraiser" on the official company Facebook website?

All a big misunderstanding?

Some ninny the company had in charge of social media for the company, overstepped her authority?

The whole thing smells like someone took a schidt and then sprayed the bathroom with Glade roses... You may smell the roses, but you can still smell the schidt too.
