Hold it, someone bought powder? Impossible. I read here that the government shut down all powder manufacturing except for the military.

Dumb SOB. I'm sure eight pound jugs of Titegroup are available at your local 7-11.

None of that here in Pa. Cash and carry no ID asked for. The problem here is no powder on the shelves. The lack of components is starting to take a toll. Our trap shooting events are realy going south. I have no idea what the real reason for the shortage is, but it is starting to effect shooting in a big way.

Nothing like having your ship to, billing address, and financial transaction recorded.

Yeah, we pay USPS money order..... no billing address. Shipping is NOT to my house or even anywhere close.... but they could figure it out if they really wanted to....

But then again we've been ordering 100 pounds or more of powder that way since the 90s.... so I"m screwed as can be then.

Paul,

I didn't know they had powder at Ace? The only place I've bought powder in StG is SW, and Dixie Gun and Fish.

The Hurst Ace on N. Bluff has a gun dept., and occasional powder. I got a pound of Varget one time, then IMR 4895 the other day. Prices actually lower than Dixie, but IMR went up recently from $25 to $30. $35 at Dixie. Pretty well stocked on primers lately. You have to watch Ace, because they selectively gouge, which is one reason I'm not wild about shopping there. $30 for Ruger 10-22 mags. You should also check out CalRanch behind SW when you're in town. Decent gun dept.

Also, if you're on N. Bluff, try Jalapeos at the Sinclair station a few blocks north of Hurst. Best Mex in town, IMO, and very reasonable.

I've often wondered whether ATF gets a copy of invoices of powder sales.

I bought a pound Friday. I walked in and couldn't make up my mind. I decided om IMR4895. I laid down my money and walked out. No buttons pushed, no escort out, no ID or weird looks. All of this in Communist California.

Ummm...

You don't reload.

Or shoot.

Or spend any time outdoors.

Feel free to prove me wrong.

I think they were not only taking your picture, but also probably hit you with an anethsysized ray that grabbed some of your DNA,...

...you should have just dropped the powder and run.
