Made by a fellow named D. Hilliard up in Cornish, NH as I recall. Vintage is not clear, but I suspect somewhere in the 1870s. My hammer dies do not have a bleed hole. Garbage in, magic out.
I am..........disturbed.

Good thread, my 45 2 7/8" uses the same 540 gr pp load for target or hunting so I am good to go there. I have a buffalo hunt in Jan. Last time I used the 45 to good effect, this time I plan on using my 50 3 1/4" with a 500 gr Rapine fn ppb, patched to groove dia.( for the chamber on this gun that is what works). I have some deer tags to but I have some leverguns in 30-30 and 32 Win Spcl I want to use also. That's the future, now I need to get back into shape build my strength and stamina for those hunts. I had a light stroke last week but I am fully recovering completely intact. Never ever take tomorrow for granted. Magnum Man

Glad to hear that you have recovered! That is some scary stuff.
