I use 51.5 grains of TAC for about 2,610 or 49 grains of 3031 for about 2,660. Both are about 1.5 inch groupers. Win brass and Fed 215 primers.

Works very well on deer but no elk experience.

I use 40 grains 4198, forget which one, for an unchronographed velocity of about 2400 fps.

200 grain Hornady is the only bullet I use in my BLR 358. I think you'll be happy with it. Hate to state my load as it is a load I worked up to in this rifle.

I prefer classic.

I use IMR 4064 with Hornady 200 Spitzers in my bolt action .358. I've used that bullet with great results on whitetails. Load shoots 5/8" groups at 100 yds. I use 225 gr Partitions with 4064 for black bear although I think the 200 gr Spitzers would be fine.

One of my son's and I took a couple of truckloads of critters in Africa a few years ago using the 200 gr TTSX and 52 grs of TAC out of a custom 20" barreled pre-74 M70 358 Win. This to include all of the normal plains game up to wildebeest and gemsbuck. We found one bullet from the nine animals taken.
