I know when the wife asks how many guns do I need, I always tell her "Just one more honey". And it's the God honest truth. Rick

I generally use magnum primers in any belted magnum cartridge, as well as catridges that take more than 50g of ball poweder. I cut down my group sizes considerably with my .444 Marlin switching to a magnum primer when using H335 powder.

Also I have a short barreled .270 Winchester that seems to group slightly tighter with a Federal 215 primer instead of the 210.

I'll usually start with Winchester primers, but if a promising load has flier problems, I'll also try both CCI BR primers and a magnum primer.
So far, I've not found any advantage to a magnum primer, even in my 338WM.
