I've seen a 700 one break off when bumped pretty hard. But only once.

That being said I would not assume he actually had any fault in it. I'm not saying he didn't either...

Chit happens sometimes.

But I'm with others.... teenagers don't get my good stuff...

We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Can you get a rifle in trade for your wife?

To be fair, he did have some friends with him. One of them might have done it. I doubt that I ever get an adequate explanation. I guess I am paying for my raising as that I was hell on farm equipment and anything else mechanical at that age.

My dad once told me that I could break a ball bearing in a rubber room.

Them Remington bolts handles...all trash...no matter what action they're used in. grin

I loaned out my custom-built Jefferson M98 .;270 to my brother down in Denver....

21 years later I got it back after it "quit shooting ("MOA to about 12") after a winter in a dank basement. Couldn't really see anything wrong with it, except it had "quit shooting"... and nothing I could do (as a trained gunsmith) could make it shoot again.

Scored a $110 "Finnish Sniper" heavy, 27 inch bbl in '06 out of Sportsman Guide and am now using it for my tundra caribou gun. Zeroed at 300 with 150 gr factory loads running MOA or less. If I hold my mouth right....

I have to admit, I'm a mite curious what it would do with neck-sized handloads across a proper bench rest.... instead of the seat of the ATV or snow machine... smile It had 5 caribou killed at 350-450 yards before I had a box of ammo thru it. Gotta love it when a plan comes together! smile

Hey - don't knock those Rem handles. I've only silver soldered 3 back on, including one of my own.

You probably should not hammer them open if you get a case stuck....

You probably should insure you don't get a case stuck....

So now Forbes handles also fall off?

You can beat on a Ruger or pre-64 all you want, and they won't come off.

Ain't that the truth.

The only thing I would loan out would be my sister in law.
