I've had sme good deals here on the 'fire. I would enjoy watching someone post a Boatpaddle at $1,000 in the classifieds. I wonder if Gunbroker tracks actual price paid rather than simply closing bid?

You know the classifieds here don't work that way. Gunbroker on the other hand, is different. You and I both know you'd get laughed at if you listed a boat paddle ruger for $1,000.00 here. Throw them on GB and see what happens. A lot of guys with big egos and pocketbooks go there. I'll give you an example. I sold a left handed Remington 788 6mm rem on GB last year. I wanted to get at least $400.00 out of it and it sold for $650.00. I had no control over what it sold for or who bought it. I got a phone call after the auction ended (at 12:00 A.M!!!) from a drunk bastid that said his wife was going to be pissed that he just paid that much for a rifle. That's not really the way I like to do business, but it happened that way that time. I'm sure he had major buyers remorse, but he set the price...

That's why I've switched to selling all firearms on gunbroker, I don't use the classifieds here for that anymore.

Set a minimum bid that you can live with if only one person bids, then stand back and watch the market and auction fever do their magic.

I've sold a few for minimum bid which basically means I got my asking price, and have watched some folks get into a bidding war on other firearms to my great financial advantage. It costs a bit to list a gun there but one just adds that cost of business into the starting bid.

Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery.
Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
