Still waiting on the definition of a "woods cartridge".
It's the opposite of a "beanfield rifle".  All I know is a "brush rifle" is good for shooting brush....

Penn Dog, Your sporterized Krag is a beauty and is just what I'm looking for next on my list of rifles I'd like to own, something with a peep sight. I waited patiently for my Marlin 30-30, let the games begin!

The best sporter conversion ever!!! Same for me -- that is the best Lee Enfield sporter I've ever seen. Ingwe, can you tell us who stocked that rifle? They have really got an eye for it! John

I stocked the rifle. Bought a semi-inlet from the Great American Gunstock Company....which I fervently hope is no longer in business...what a bunch of turds to deal with... Anyway I rasped the thing into shape, put on the ebony for end and English red pad, checkered and finished it myself.
