Last summer I built this custom knife for a fellow Campfire member. The handle was built with a good amount of palm swell. I really liked how the knife felt and knew that I would have to build a similar knife for myself. I really like having a handle that can be seen in the grass but wanted something a little more subtle so I laminated Orange G10 to Olive Micarta. Like the origional, the blade is made from O1 steel. A Light My Fire Fire steel is attached to the Kydex sheath and in tribute to Dan Adair's safety conscience I also have a Firesteel striker. Of course you can always use the spine of the knife as well.

I like that looks of that package! And am jealous of folks that can make stuff like that for themselves. I'm lucky to make myself a sammich...

Travis I know quality when I see it, regardless of the wrapper. You invited to come over for some elk for dinner if you'd like...

Thanks friend. Travis I'll always be there for you in a time of need. Unless your moving then I don't know you or have a truck. Actually, I don't really have a truck as I have an Uberlanche. Sincerely submitted with all due respect...

The knife is nice, but I think the shape of it would make it hard to use. The handle is bending down from the blade. I think it would be easier to use if it was a bit straighter. At least they are for me.

It is actually the most useful handle design I have ever used. Similar in shape to the Esse Izula.

not saying it won't work. Just saying that when you have that much bend you have to move your hand that is holding the knife lower in order for the entire blade to make contact, which seems counterproductive to me.

Actually the handle shape allows a much straighter wrist than with a straight handle.

Interesting. I just did an experiment. I took a straight piece of wood and a curved piece of wood and placed them both on a table. the straight price of wood was in contact with the table at all points. the curved piece of wood was in contact with the table on both ends of the piece, but not in the middle. In order to get the front part of the curved piece of wood to contact the table I had to move the rear portion off the table and lower.
